Join NBAA President and CEO Ed Bolen, SAA President, Xin Feng, and senior-level government officials and industry leaders for their perspectives at the launch of ABACE2019 with the opening keynote session. In addition, for the first time, ABACE2019 will feature a panel discussion on the future of general aviation in China, moderated by the chairperson of the Asian Business Aviation Association (AsBAA). The panelists will discuss growth opportunities for business aviation in China from the perspectives of Original Equipment Manufacturers, and explore what the future may hold – from urban air mobility, to international aviation.

    National Business Aviation Association (NBAA)

    Ed Bolen became the president and CEO of the National Business Aviation Association (NBAA) in Washington, DC, on Sept. 7, 2004.

    Prior to joining NBAA, Bolen was president and CEO of the General Aviation Manufacturers Association (GAMA) for eight years. Bolen joined GAMA in 1995 as senior vice president and general counsel. GAMA’s board of directors elected him president and CEO in November 1996.

    In 2001, Bolen was nominated by President Bush to serve as a member of the Commission on the Future of the U.S. Aerospace Industry. Established by Congress, the commission’s objectives were to study and make recommendations on ways to ensure American leadership in aerospace in the 21st century.

    Bolen was nominated by President Clinton and confirmed by the U.S. Senate to serve as a member of the Management Advisory Council (MAC) to the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA). He chaired the council from 2000 to 2004.

    Bolen is a member of the board of directors of the National Aeronautic Association. He also serves on the Aviation Advisory Board of the Mitre Corporation, a federally funded research and development corporation.

    Prior to his association career, Bolen was majority general counsel to what is now the Senate Committee on Health, Education, Labor and Pensions. He also served as legislative director for U.S. Senator Nancy Kassebaum (R-KS) and was a key player in the passage of the General Aviation Revitalization Act of 1994.

    Bolen received his Bachelor of Arts in economics from the University of Kansas. He is a graduate of the Tulane University School of Law and holds a Master of Laws degree from Georgetown University Law Center.

    Bolen, a recreational pilot, is also a competitive tennis player and former captain of the University of Kansas varsity tennis team.

    谭森先生是美国驻上海总领事馆总领事。此前他曾经担任美国驻沈阳总领事并在任职期间通过与美国多个州的合作创记录地为美国带去了超过10亿美元的中国投资,同时将几十家美国公司引入中国市场。另外,他为旨在吸引中国游客赴美旅游的 “美中旅游年”总统倡议所做的项目成为了该倡议的标杆。

    在担任美国驻印度尼西亚棉兰首席官员期间,谭森先生致力于亚齐省节礼日地震后的重建工作。同时,他所创建的一项全使团范围的项目让在美国学习的印尼留学生数量增长了一倍。在担任美国驻东帝汶大使馆副大使期间,他负责组建了全新的使团并负责新馆的建造。在东帝汶首都帝力爆发大规模政治动乱后,他又组织监督美国公民撤离该国并削减大使馆的规模。他的海外任职还包括尼日利亚拉各斯使馆、印度尼西亚雅加达使馆和美国驻中国成都总领事馆。

    谭森先生毕业于乔治城大学,是美国资深职业外交官。他会说印尼语和中文,已婚并育有三个孩子。

    艾伟敦先生于1996年加入加拿大外交及国际贸易部。在渥太华工作期间,他曾先后就职于中国及蒙古国处,人权和人道主义事务处,以及任职协调处工作。他的海外任职经历包括:在加拿大驻华大使馆任二等秘书兼副领事,在加拿大台北贸易办事处担任整体关系处负责人,在加拿大驻印度尼西亚大使馆任政治参赞,并曾在日内瓦、伊斯兰堡和金边短期任职。 到广州就任前,艾伟敦先生在加拿大外交及国际贸易部政策处任政策研究总监。

    Moderator, Panel Discussion – The Future of General Aviation in China:

    Ms. Lau is the Chairperson of AsBAA. In this role, she takes overall leadership of AsBAA’s growth, engagement and initiatives under its three core pillars: Advocacy, Representation and Community. Ms. Lau was elected as Chairperson of AsBAA in 2017. Her current post runs until the next schedule Board of Director Elections at the AsBAA AGM in 2019.

    Outside of her voluntary position as Chairperson of AsBAA, Ms. Lau is also the President of Sino Jet Group, which was established in 2011. In close cooperation with the Sino Jet leadership team, Ms. Lau plays a prominent role in formulating and implementing the company’s growth and development strategies. She also defined the company’s mission and values – which include a commitment to service excellence, diversification and to creating new business opportunities by forming win-win alliances with vendors and industry players.

    Under the leadership of Ms. Lau, Sino Jet expanded rapidly to become one of the leading private jet management companies in the Asia Pacific Region. In 2014, Sino Jet merged with Bear Jet under the investment of Tsinghua Holdings Industry Investment Fund (TH capital). Since this time, Sino Jet has further developed as a comprehensive corporation with dual bases in Hong Kong and Beijing. The company currently manages and self-operates more than 30 private jets.

    Prior to joining the world of aviation, Ms. Lau had a successful career in the private banking division of Morgan Stanley & Co. Incorporated, providing wealth management services and advice to ultra-high-net-worth clients in North America and Asia. During this time, Ms. Lau became interested in the opportunities of the business aviation industry in Asia.

    Ms. Lau holds a Master’s degree in Public Policy and Management and a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from the University of Southern California. She holds three securities trading certifications in the United States of America and serves as Independent Non-executive Director of Digital Domain- a public listed company on Hong Kong Stock Exchange.

    2011年7月,吴景奎先生被全球最大的通用航空制造企业—美国赛斯纳飞机公司任命为北亚地区副总裁,主管该地区的销售和市场发展工作。

    2007年6月,吴景奎先生加入全球最著名的多元化企业集团之一美国德事隆集团公司。作为德事隆中国公司副总裁,负责德事隆集团在大中华地区的业务发展和政府事务,推动公司在中国的发展战略,加强德事隆与本地区商业伙伴的业务关系。在他的领导下,德事隆中国及其所属的行业协会力推中国通用航空的发展,厥功至伟。

    在2007年6月加盟德事隆之前,吴景奎先生是美国洛克希德-马丁全球有限公司的大中华区业务发展总监。他组织并管理了对军民客户的销售和服务。在他服务期间,公司发展成为所在业务领域的主要产品和服务供应商。

    在2002年4月加入洛克希德·马丁公司之前,吴景奎先生具有在中国民航系统长达16年的工作经验。吴景奎先生的职业生涯始于空中交通管制员,管制教员,并曾任中国民航大学国际交流与合作处处长。作为中国民航大学的一名教师和校友,吴先生与民航各界拥有广泛的联系。

    出生并在中国天津长大,吴景奎先生拥有澳大利亚皇家墨尔本理工大学MBA航空管理硕士学位,南京航空航天大学航空工程硕士学位,中国民航大学运输工程学位。

Electric Vertical Take Off and Landing (eVTOL) aircraft are a highly anticipated urban mobility solution that can directly complement business aviation. The convergence of technology advances, urban infrastructure challenges, and consumer behavior has attracted many companies and new programs are announced almost weekly. This session will detail how eVTOL promises to be a disruptive technology, who the key players are and the potential timeline for launch. Following this presentation, an interactive panel will focus on the aircraft, their capabilities and operational considerations such as airspace integration.

    Cyrus Sigari soloed at age 16, earned private pilot certification at age 17, commercial pilot and flight instructor certification at age 18, and airline transport pilot certification at age 23. He holds multiple single-pilot jet type ratings and is rated in the Boeing 747-400. Cyrus graduated from Purdue University where he studied Aeronautical Engineering. He has turned his passion of flight into a business that has helped hundreds of individuals and companies with the world of jet ownership.

    Prior to co-founding jetAVIVA, Cyrus served as a principal engineer for Eclipse Aviation during the initial development of the Eclipse 500. After fulfilling his engineering commitments, Cyrus transitioned to sales and sold 50 Eclipse 500s in a one-year period. Outside of his direct efforts at jetAVIVA, Cyrus holds the position of Very Light Jet Editor for Plane & Pilot and Pilot Journal magazines, has been published in Twin & Turbine magazine, and authors Light Jet Pre-Owned market report for Aviation International News. Cyrus is a founding member of the Citation Jet Pilots Owners group and Eclipse 500 Owners Club. He is trilingual in English, Spanish, and Farsi.

    Shane Tedjarati is responsible for driving Honeywell’s business expansion in High Growth Regions of the world: Asia, Africa, Latin America, the Middle East and Eastern Europe.

    Tedjarati has been instrumental in engineering Honeywell’s success story, starting in China and India, and expanding globally to the High Growth Regions of the world where today Honeywell drives the majority of its growth.

    Before coming to Honeywell, Tedjarati accumulated more than 20 years of consulting experience in various industries. He was the regional managing director for Deloitte Consulting (Greater China), where he worked with Chinese stated-owned enterprises and multi-national corporations to help them formulate and execute strategies for sustainable growth in China and abroad.

    Tedjarati is a Henry Crown Fellow of Aspen Institute and also the co-founder of its Middle East Leadership Initiative and China Fellowship Program; special advisor to Chongqing and Wuhan Mayors; member of the advisory board of Antai College of Economics and Management Shanghai Jiao Tong University; and industry Co-Chair of China Leaders for Global Operations (CLGO), a dual master’s degree program by MIT and Shanghai Jiao Tong University.

    Tedjarati is an avid aviator. He has lived in China for more than 20 years and speaks six languages.
